Week Four update

Our robot is beginning to come together and actually look like a robot! Our drivetrain is nearing completion, and should be driving fairly soon. Our ball-impelling device is also coming along well.
Code-wise, things are looking good, and the controls subgroup is working on electronics and the Operator Interface.

Week Three Updates

Our drivetrain came back from welding Tuesday, and is awaiting wheels and electronics. CAD models are being finished up and the rest of the machining is starting.
We have preliminary code for our ball impelling device and are starting on autonomous code.
We're also writing our awards applications and working on the chairman's video.
Our Preliminary Design Review, where we present our initial robot design to local teams and sponsors, happened yesterday, despite snow.
The Chief of Tactics is working on two scouting systems, one an Android app and one paper and Excel based.

Good luck everyone, and stay warm!

Welcome back!

Team 190 has begun the 2014 build season, and we're off to a brisk start. After the game reveal on Saturday, we had a busy day at the WPI Local Kickoff, with lots of volunteering, workshops, and honey-mustard wings. We followed that up on Sunday with our traditional strategic priority meeting at Mass Academy, in which we decided our game priorities and team mission statement. After breaking up into smaller groups, we're now busy working on prototypes and tentative robot designs. We will decide on our basic design tomorrow.

Stay tuned for regular robot and team updates! Happy New Year and may we all be done before Week 0 events.
